Best Wedding Planners in Prince Edward County

filed under:

Wedding

Prince Edward County isn’t a place you plan a wedding the way you’d plan one in the city. Rental companies book out fast, a lot of the best venues aren’t all-inclusive (The Cape being a good example), and most weddings here stretch across a full weekend rather than a single afternoon. A planner who already knows the County’s rhythm makes a real difference.

I’ve photographed enough weddings to know which planners consistently make a wedding weekend feel easy instead of chaotic, whether they’re based in Toronto, Ottawa, or right in the County itself. Here are five I’d recommend for your Prince Edward County Wedding.

Lexington & Co.

Led by Lexi Haslam, Lexington & Co. built its reputation on treating each wedding as its own piece of design work, moving comfortably between intimate gatherings and much larger, lavish celebrations. Their full planning, partial planning, and month-of coordination packages give couples real flexibility in how much of the process they hand off. The team is known for regularly bringing Toronto couples to Brighthouse Farm for a full wedding weekend in the County, and their reviews back it up: couples consistently describe feeling completely at ease on the day itself, crediting Lexi’s team for their organization and a calm hand with last-minute details. At least one Toronto venue keeps them on a preferred-vendor list specifically because of how smoothly their events run.

Ashley Pigott Events

Ashley Pigott spent twenty years in high-end hospitality, at luxury hotels and well-regarded restaurants, before becoming one of the region’s go-to private estate and tented wedding specialists. Her team’s work reads as elevated without ever feeling stiff, the kind of styling that looks effortless because of how much thought went into it beforehand. She’s since expanded into multi-day and destination events, from the County to France and Italy. Her team has planned weddings at Compass Rose, turning the 100-acre private property into a seamless full-weekend celebration. Clients describe her as hands-on from the very first conversation, someone who keeps bringing original ideas rather than a standard playbook, and more than one review mentions the same feeling on the wedding day itself: total ease, with Ashley always a step ahead of whatever came up.

Mildred & Co.

Kristen Ross leads Mildred & Co. out of Prince Edward County itself, with Kingston, Toronto, and Ottawa rounding out her service area, which makes her the most locally rooted name on this list. Her studio pairs full planning with boutique rentals, so design and execution come from the same hand instead of being split across separate vendors. Clients consistently point to the same things: taste that borders on impeccable, and a level of follow-through that covers everything down to the seating chart, the tenting, and the smallest details of a ceremony setup. If having someone who already knows the County inside and out matters to you, she’s worth a conversation.

Toast Events

Elise and her team at Toast Events are known across Ottawa for handling high-design, high-impact weddings without losing any polish along the way. I’ve worked directly with Elise before, including a Rococo-inspired editorial at the Ottawa Art Gallery, and her portfolio consistently pairs serious logistics with a genuine eye for detail. She also offers destination wedding planning for couples who want a trusted local team managing things abroad, and her reach extends into Prince Edward County as well.

The Event Design Co.

The Event Design Co. brings a design-first sensibility to every wedding they take on, with a portfolio that spans Toronto, Muskoka, Niagara, and Prince Edward County. WPIC-certified and led by a team that treats even the smallest details, a single tablescape, a ceremony arch, as part of the bigger story of the day. Reviews consistently call out individual planners on their team by name, with couples describing hands-on support that goes well past the job description, from managing every vendor relationship to stepping in wherever the day actually needed them.

Choosing Between Them

All five know Prince Edward County well enough to be trusted with a wedding weekend here, but they’re not interchangeable. Lexington & Co., Ashley Pigott Events, and The Event Design Co. all travel from Toronto and are used to producing a full weekend from a distance. Elise at Toast Events plans from Ottawa, close enough for easy in-person meetings with a short drive out to the County. Kristen at Mildred & Co. is based in the County itself, the most local option of the group. The right fit usually comes down to where you’re planning from and how hands- on you want the process to feel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a wedding planner for a Prince Edward County wedding?

It’s strongly recommended, especially at venues that aren’t all-inclusive. Rentals, catering, and accommodations all need to be coordinated separately from the venue itself, which is a lot to manage without local knowledge.

Should I hire a Toronto-based planner or one local to the County?

Both work well. Toronto-based planners like Lexington & Co., Ashley Pigott Events, and The Event Design Co. are experienced at producing weekends from a distance. Elise at Toast Events plans from Ottawa, and Kristen at Mildred & Co. is based right in the County, the most local, hands-on option of the group.

How far in advance should I book a planner for a PEC wedding?

As early as possible, particularly for a summer Saturday. Rental companies and popular venues in the County book out well ahead of the date itself.

Can a planner help even if I’ve already booked my venue?

Yes. All five planners listed here take on partial planning and month-of coordination in addition to full planning, so there’s flexibility depending on how far along you already are.
